I found my identity in working harder - No one could outwork me. That led to late nights, early mornings, skipped meals, and when I did eat it was shoveling down whatever was available while I kept working.
My wife and family took 2nd place to my business - I had convinced myself that all this extra time I was putting in would end, and it would be worth the sacrifice of family time when I finally go to "Freedom".
She cried herself to sleep EVERY. NIGHT. - For longer than I'd like to admit, my wife would cry herself to sleep every night, while I lay there and listen, with no clue how to "fix it". Typical man move, and clueless that I was the problem.
My confidence was gone - I walked around like I knew what I was doing, but inside I was a mess. I had no clue how to get out of the mess I had made, and my frustration with myself was often directed at the ones closest to me.
I was about to give up - I had hit my pain line business. The ceiling of my abilities. I had been there too long, and decided to finally take some time off. My wife threatened to sell my bike if I didn't ride it... so I did. That ride changed my life. No phone calls. No questions. No problems to solve. Just me, my bike, and fresh air... FREEDOM!
